The Company

Our lands extend over Montefalco hillside, 470 m. high, in the centre of Italy, that is in Umbria. The property has been set up by BOTTI’s Family in the early 1900’s. Since then it has been enlarged thanks to a big work and a strong will. It has always included Sagrantino vineyards. For this reason we have preserved the tradition of its wine-making for decades, even when elsewhere it had almost disappeared. The same we use today following the natural processes. The quantity of wine we make is limited – only a part of the whole harvest – so as to keep high the QUALITY OF OUR WINES. Our philosophy is well expressed in the following sentence of the Latin  poet Virgil:

Praise a large estate

but cultivate a small one

-Virgil-
